I'm curious as to everyones feelings and insight on the gay community at large (National, International) and in your own cities. Do you feel the sense of "community"? Do you avoid other gay people like the plague? What do you think makes up a gay community? etc...

the gay community in my area is one bar that is only open one or two days a week. its only function is as a meat market. if i want anything other then that, i have to go two hours away to st. louis. i thank god that a major university (SIU) is nearby, otherwise it would be a total loss. I would like to spend sometime in an area with more gays. I once stayed with a gay parent of my friend in Chicago. We went to "boystown" and ate dinner in gay resturaunt, went to a gay video store, and it was pretty cool. I didnt feel like i had to play "straight".

Not much of a gay community in my town. The population is made up of just me. I kind of feel like an outcast in school when I turn every corner and find another straight guy kissing a girl.

I know a few gay people up by where you live, though, they are probably a bit older then you. Moreover, Philly is but a stones throw away from your locale.

I don't buy into the whole "gay pride" BS.

I don't buy into "gay clubs" or "gay hotspots"


Being gay is just a small, tiny part of my life, not my entire life like a lot of gays make it out to be..if that's makes em happy great..

I don't think I have to act a certain way because I'm gay or should be expected to like gay things...

Do I sound bitter? lol...I probably do because I don't like most gay people...at least the ones I've dealt with.

90% of my friends are straight and I like it that way...no drama, no bullshit...just me..my friends...our sports and cars
